A barefoot bride, kids that breakdance, the best brisket in the Texas countryside, lovingly DIY’ed details… Macie & Cody’s wedding at The Gruene Estate was one for the books and a joy to capture on 35mm and 120 film. After their engagement session earlier that year, I knew their wedding would be something unique, colorful, and special!!
The morning began with a soft rain and an emotional first look with her dad and kids. By the time Macie walked down the aisle, the skies completely cleared. What followed was an evening filled with celebration, laughter, a true-to-Texas dinner, toasts that felt like story time, and one of the best playlists I’ve heard at a wedding in a long time.
I love hearing from couples who want something different than the typical weddings photos out there. When Macie reached out, she shared “it’s been a challenge finding someone that has sweet wedding photos that don’t necessarily look like wedding photos…. I’m looking for a collage of Wes Anderson/ Disco/ Candid/ Sexy/GlitterBomb/Indi photos to sum up our celebration.” I knew we were the perfect fit!
