There’s something so magical about capturing this season of life—especially in a place as stunning as Malibu State Park. I had the joy of photographing Karissa and Brian’s maternity session here. Nestled in the heart of Southern California, Malibu State Park offers a dreamy, natural backdrop that feels equal parts serene and cinematic—perfect for couples wanting maternity photos that feel both relaxed and elevated.
Karissa brought a few different looks, each one reflecting her style and the softness of this season. For her photos, she was especially drawn to the color yellow! We wandered through the fields and beneath the old oak trees, capturing both digital and film photographs to preserve the feeling of the afternoon. I personally scanned the film rolls after the session to make sure every detail and tone stayed true to the moment. The soft textures of film add such a timeless quality to their gallery—it’s one of my favorite photographic mediums.
